Another new look
Testing a new theme out on the site.
I kind of like this one but I need to do a proper logo.
Meanwhile expect a couple of new courses to be added over the weekend: Slieve Russell and Dungannon.

Apologies to anyone who has been trying to access the site lately.
I’ve moved to a different host and it has taken a bit of time to get things up and running in the new place.
It’s still not quite there yet so please bear with me while I fix things (and perhaps change the look - again).
Keep checking back over the next few weeks. We’re heading off on our first golfing trip of the year over Easter and should have some new courses to add.
I upgraded to the site to Wordpress 2.5 recently and it seems that the theme I was using is not yet compatible with this latest version, so we’re back to this temporary look until I can either get things working or find another new style. Everything still works, it just doesn’t look as nice.
Normal service will resume as soon as possible.
Update: Fixed things sooner than I expected!
And we’ve got a new look too. Hope you like it.
Right now things aren’t working quite like I want them to behind the scenes so bear with me as I tweak some things over the next few weeks. (I might even decide to go with a completely new look if the tweaks don’t work out).
I’m giving the photos page a new makeover as well with some nice looking flash-based albums, so you’ll need Adobe Flash Player installed in order to see them. Currently there’s just a test link to an album from Portumna last year but I’ll be putting up loads more in the coming weeks and adding thumbnails.
I’m also planning to:
Our first trip of 2008 is this weekend and we’ll be playing:

Added some photos of Fintona Golf Club to the Galleries pages.
A bit of fame at last!
Colm, who we met at Beaufort, also does a bit of radio and he thought our story would make for a interesting report. So he called us yesterday at about 11:40 while we were waiting to tee off at Castlegregory and recorded an interview with us.
Thankfully, Clive did most of the talking and he spoke very well about what we get up to and the courses we’ve played. When he handed the phone over the me my mind promptly went blank. Colm asked me about the courses we had played in the Kerry and Cork area but, even though we’d just played Beaufort and Bantry Bay, I had to ask Clive what we had played. So I fumbled my way through a bit about Bantry Bay. Hopefully, Colm will have edited that bit out!
Anyway, thanks to Colm for doing the interview. Hopefully we’ll get a few more hits on the site!
We’re just about to head to Bantry Bay in County Cork for the start of our latest golfing trip.
We’ve got 5 courses lined up for this long weekend starting at Bantry Bay and finishing at Knockanally.
The weather forecast is good - plenty of sunshine ahead. Hopefully the quality of golf will match the weather!
I’ve discovered a way of using my mobile phone to access the internet with my laptop so hopefully we’ll be able to upload our posts while we’re on the road. Probably won’t be able to add any photos to the galleries until we’re back home though so check back for those next week.
We’re getting ready for our first trip of the year in the camper. It’s beautiful weather at the moment and it’s looking to be a warm, dry Easter weekend so we’re really looking forward to the golf.
We play in the open competition at Portumna Golf Club every year at Easter so we’ll be heading there this evening. With it being Good Friday there’ll be no Guinness in the clubhouse this evening but it’s always good fun catching up with Eileen and Phil who welcome us like one of locals.
Other courses lined up over the long Easter weekend: Strokestown, Ardacong and Castlebar.
